Features:
This expansion board adds two RS485 ports and two RS232 ports for Raspberry Pi 5, which can meet your various needs to use Raspberry Pi 5.
Widely used to make robot to control robotic arm, industrial automation control system, data acquisition and monitoring systems, automotive electronics, etc.
The baud rate of RS232 can be more than 230Kbps (U0 and U3 can be up to 1.2Mbps if carrying out actual measurement); The baud rate of RS485 can be up to 500Kbps (U1 and U2 can be up to 1.5Mbps if carrying out actual measurement).
RS232 is suitable for short-distance communication; while RS485 is suitable for long-distance, multi-point communication, supporting multiple devices to communicate over the network.
Theoretically, the maximum transmission distance of RS485 can reach 1200 meters, which makes RS485 greatly suitable for medium and long distance communication needs. However, the actual transmission distance may be affected by a variety of factors, including signal interference, cable quality, connector quality, the surrounding environment and more.
A total of four indicators, one is the power indicator (take power and work through the Raspberry Pi 5's PCIE interface), one is the ACT indicator of USB to serial chip, the other two are transmit/receive indicator.
The size of the board is 56x85mm, with four fixing holes, same as Raspberry Pi 5.
Reserve fixing holes for 4G modules, and can stack 1-3 way of 4G modules.
Drive-free design, recognised as ttyACM* by default under Raspberry Pi and Ubuntu systems; ttyACM0 and ttyACM3 is RS232, ttyACM1 and ttyACM2 is RS485.
Matching housings are available.
