The Free Rig is an exciting method of fishing for bass and other gamefish. By running your line through a the hole at the top of a free-sliding weight before tying to your hook, it creates a hybrid between two ultra-popular bass fishing rigs - the Carolina Rig and the Texas Rig. When casted out, your weight will fall quickly while the soft plastic bait falls more slowly and naturally behind the weight. This free-flowing, more natural fall puts your bait into the strike-zone much more quickly and efficiently than a weightless plastic, but with much of the natural appear and action of a weightless bait than that of a Texas Rig, giving you the best of both worlds. The Free Rig is an awesome way to target fish that are suspended, related to cover in current, along grass edges or suspended over grass, and more!
Harmony's Free Rig Wires allow you to be prepared to use the Free Rig at a moment's notice when the fishing conditions call for it. Keep a pack of Free Rig Wires in your tackle box and you can quickly attach the exact weight you need to your Free Rig, as well as quickly adjust your weight without having to re-tie.
Smooth round line hole provides minimal friction for a free-sliding design without wearing or fraying your line/leader. Easily slips over leader knots to allow the Free Rig to be fished with any line-type, even braid to fluoro/mono leader. Built in swivel prevents line twist. The 42mm (1.65”) weight wire allows you to attach the weight of your choice (or multiple weights to give off a clacking sound/vibration when they contact). The wire can be trimmed to length with hook/wire cutter pliers that you already have in your gear and then bent 90 degrees to lock your weight on. Best of all, you can unbend and change/adjust your weight to match the depth and fishing conditions at hand without cutting off and re-tying like a traditional Free Rig.
