This AddOn Ciena Compatible TAA Compliant XCVR-S80U49-C is an ultra-long-reach SFP+ transceiver engineered for 10-Gigabit Ethernet applications requiring single-fiber connectivity. Utilizing advanced Bi-Directional (BiDi) wavelength division multiplexing technology, this module transmits at 1490nm and receives at 1550nm, enabling simultaneous data transmission and reception over a single strand of single-mode fiber for distances up to 80 km (approximately 50 miles). The simplex LC connector design reduces fiber infrastructure costs by eliminating the need for dual-fiber connections. This Upstream module must be paired with its complementary Downstream counterpart to establish a functional 10GBASE-BX80-U link. Digital Optical Monitoring support provides real-time diagnostics for proactive network management. Operating reliably in commercial temperature ranges from 0°C to 70°C, this transceiver is ideal for metropolitan area networks, campus backbone connections, and long-haul data center interconnects.
