Store and transport at room temperature, valid for 12 months.
The PVDF membrane, nitrocellulose membrane or cellulose acetate membrane were immersed in Ponceau S working solution, and the staining was shaken for 3-5 min or longer until clear bands appeared.
Rinse the stained membrane in distilled water for a few seconds to slightly remove the background color until the background is light and the protein band is clear.
Rinse with distilled water, PBS or other appropriate solution 2-3 times, 3-5 min each time to remove Ponceau S, and conduct the subsequent Western experiment.
Ponceau S staining solution can be recycled and used repeatedly.
Ponceau S staining solution is not suitable for protein staining detection on nylon membrane.

Description
Ponceau S staining solution can be used for the rapid detection of proteins on PVDF membrane, nitrocellulose membrane (NC membrane) and cellulose acetate membrane. The principle is that Ponceau S is negatively charged and can bind to positively charged amino acid residues, while Ponceau S can also bind to non-polar regions of the protein, resulting in a red band. The staining of protein by Ponceau S is reversible and can be washed off with distilled water, PBS or other appropriate solution.
